Swollen Glands, Hot or Cold Compress?

I woke up this morning and my throat lymph nodes on the sides of my throat are very swollen. I am wondering what I can do? Hot or cold compress? Anything else?

cool compress would be better. But you might not like it if you have a fever.
try a salt water mouth rinse/gargle. That can sooth the tissues.
