Kefir Grains Get
Do you have suggestions for a vegan who is chronically constipated?
My diet consists of little to no processed foods. I do have a bowl of kashi go lean in the mornings occasionally, but most of the time I have whole grains, fruits, vegetables and legumes. I don't eat dairy except occasionally Kefir for the probiotics.
I work out nearly every day. I massage my abdomen. I drink lots of water. I am 120 pounds and 5 feet 5 inches tall. On the outside I look really really healthy, on the inside I feel like I'm full of poop! I'm in my mid 30s and have a biology degree, and feel like I should be able to solve this myself.
I have had 3 kids and since they were born I've not been able to have a normal BM on a regular basis. I get more and more bloated and distended during the week until by Saturday I'm taking a laxative like senna just to get some relief.
This runs in my family, and affects my grandma and my dad.
I feel like I'm in a depressing cycle of constipation and need advice.
Go see a gastroenterologist. In the meantime, you can try colon cleanse and flax seed oil. Both combined really helps move the bowels. Also, drink plenty of water. Good Luck!

Over the years, olive oil has slowly eased it's way into the kitchens of restaurants all over the world and even inside our own kitchens. People are becoming more and more health conscious so healthier cuisines are progressing and getting more popular everyday.
There is a wide display of brands, and also the types of this special oil, in the stores and it's easy to get confused when choosing the best type to use when preparing meals for our family.
Picking between Extra Virgin and Regular
Extra virgin is the oil from the olive fruit. Physical or mechanical means are used to extract the oil so it does not alter it's physical properties.
It is distinguishable through it's taste and aroma. It has a fruity taste and only 10% of the oil produced can be called extra virgin.
Regular olive is a tad cheaper because it is a blend of refined oil with 1.5% acidity. The reason for refining it is to eliminate defects and mixed with virgin olive oil so it is fit to be consumed immediately. It's basically the same taste and aroma like the virgin olive oil but physically, it is like your normal cooking oil.
Uses Of Extra Virgin and Regular Oil
Regular olive oil has a lower boiling point so it is really better for cooking and frying. It is best for slow cooking too which means the food has more time to accept the flavor resulting to a more delicious and aromatic dish.
Since the extra virgin olive oil has a higher boiling point, it is best for cold processing and cooking that does not really require heat. It is the ideal partner for salad dressing and even dips. You can also drizzle it over soup and other dishes to enhance it's aroma. If you have noticed, Italians also love dipping bread into it.
There are still much to say about this wonderful oil and it's benefits but there is one thing that we all already know, using olive oil is always a wise choice for your health.
