Many people of all historical ages and from many different places are looking to improve their sex lives and have more desire for the opposite sex. Aromatherapy and essential oils have a place of honor and can be of much help by increasing sexual desire, and restoring the intimate harmony between couples. It can also assist those people who are suffering from impotence.
The most promising essential oils are Rose oil and Orange Blossom oil. However other oils are also used depending on this issue.
Rose essential oil---effects sperm production, and can also stimulate and increase sexual desire
Orange Blossom essential oil---is an aphrodisiac, it can also be soothing in cases of anxiety related to sexual performance.

Sexual desire is a response that originates in the hormonal and emotional systems of the body, and can vary in each one of us. Decreased sexual desire has various causes such as stress, diet, and more, Impotence, diseases, drugs (prescription and illicit), depression and anxiety can also be a reason for a lower than normal sexual drive.
There are essential oils that work on the hormonal system and raise the sexual desire. In addition to the two discussed above, Lavender, Patchouli, Jasmine and Canga Odorata also have properties that increase libido. Cardamom and Black Pepper oils are also useful, particularly for treating impotence as they increase circulation. It is very important to note, not to apply the oils directly on the genitals. It is always recommended that a consumer consult a qualified aromatherapist before buying or using essential oils.
There are also herbs that can help improve sexual arousal. Some help to increase desire and some help the physiological processes such as improving blood flow, and reducing tension and anxiety. The most well known herbs are Jasmine which affects the signal to the brain that can help inspire relaxation and romance, and Canga Odorata flowers are considered useful for increasing sexual arousal. In Indonesia the flowers of this herb are placed on the beds of newly married couples.
The correct and appropriate use of all the essential oils mentioned above is to mix a small amount of the recommended oils with a carrier oils such as almond oil, or sesame oil. A small amount would be 2 drops of the recommended essential oils in a bottle of 3oz. of carrier oil. With that oil, massage your partner gently. The touch helps to clear the mind and brings a sense of pleasure. It is also recommended that you work on the feet first because they connect us to the masculine and feminine sexual desire.
The essential oils can also travel through the scent pathways, to stimulate the brain. You can diffuse 5 drops of any of the above oils in an oil diffuser for added benefits.
It is important to ensure that you have no underlying medical condition before using any type of essential oils.

These may cause irritation to the skin stop immediately if any redness! Skin irritation is an inflammation caused by a reaction to a certain oil and the severity is normally dependant upon the exposure to the oil. It has been thought by some that it is the terpene content in oils that cause skin irritation, but tests have shown that it is more likely to be caused by a high phenol content in certain oils.
