Why should you know your antiviral essential oil facts? Using aromatherapy remedies is an excellent way to protect your health naturally.

While there is definitely a time and place for prescription medication, many over the counter and prescription drugs have negative side effects.

Using natural remedies such as aromatherapy can be a good way of preventing some illnesses in the first place. And if you do get sick, they can often help relieve your symptoms and clear up the virus sooner.

Do Antiviral Essential Oils Work?

Published studies show positive results for antiviral activity. Here are two examples:

Respiratory Tract Infections

"Cinnamon and thyme showed the strongest action followed by clove... thyme can be considered as a potential antimicrobial agent for the treatment of some respiratory tract infections in man."

Drug Resistant Infections

"... rosemary oil may be useful in counteracting gram-positive bacterial, fungal, and drug-resistant infections."

Doubts about Aromatherapy

While many medical professionals acknowledge that some essential oils improve mood and relaxation, many argue that there is not enough scientific proof of aromatherapy's effectiveness.

Here's why: Very few controlled, double-blind studies have been conducted because the results can't be patented. There's no profit in it!

Regardless of the lack of scientific studies, there's a whole world of anecdotal evidence supporting the benefits of aromatherapy remedies. Not to mention a history that goes back to ancient times.

Aromatherapy in Mainstream Medicine

In France, healing with aromatherapy is part of mainstream medicine. French doctors use an "Aromatogram" to help them decide which essential oils to use.

First a doctor takes a sample of infected tissue or secretion from the patient. She cultures the sample and divides it into petri dishes. Then she puts a different essential oil into each petri dish to see which oils slow the growth of the virus the most. She prescribes the aromatherapy oils that show the strongest activity against the virus.

What are the Strongest Antiviral Essential Oils?

The effectiveness of an essential oil depends on how its molecular structure interacts with the structure of a particular virus. This means that some essential oils are more effective for certain viruses than others.

That said, ALL aromatherapy oils are most effective when you use them proactively to prevent infection. They increase the body's immunity to infection, and they also slow the replication of viral cells.

Best Antiviral Essential Oils for the Flu

Coriander, Eucalyptus, Geranium, Hyssop, Lavender, Marjoram, Naiouli, Oregano, Palmarosa, Peppermint, Petitgrain, Ravensara, Rose Otto, Rosemary, Sage, Spearmint, Tea Tree and Thyme

Best Antiviral Essential Oils for Cold Sores (Herpes Virus)

Bergamot, Eucalyptus, Hyssop, Lemongrass, Melissa, Peppermint and Tea Tree

How to Use Antiviral Aromatherapy Oils

Disinfecting Surfaces: Put a drop of tea tree and a drop of lavender oil on a damp cloth and use it to wipe down surfaces. Use it to disinfect all the hard surfaces germy hands have touched.

Clearing the Air: Add 5 drops orange, 3 drops cinnamon and 3 drops clove oil to your aromatherapy diffuser or vaporizer for a warming antiviral essential oil blend. Or use 5 drops peppermint, 5 drops bergamot and 3 drops eucalyptus for a fresh, invigorating disinfectant blend.

Steam Inhalation: (Excellent for respiratory tract infections.) Boil a quart (liter) or two of water in a pot. Put the pot on a table (remember to protect the table!) and add 1 drop tea tree, 1 drop thyme and 1 drop eucalyptus oil. Use a towel to make a tent over your head and the pot. Stay in the 'tent' for 10 to 20 minutes, taking short breaks as needed.

Preventing Infections: Use this massage oil blend morning and night to boost your immune system and weaken attacking viruses. Add 10 drops lavender, 7 drops tea tree, 1 drop geranium, 1 drop palmarosa and 1 drop lemongrass to 4 tablespoons (60ml) carrier oil. Massage into your feet, especially the area above and below the base of your toes (corresponds to the lymph/respiratory meridians.)

Essential Oil Safety

Antiviral essential oils are powerful substances. Please use them properly in dilution, and never internally unless under the direction of a qualified medical aromatherapist.

What quantity of rose petals does it take to make 50ml of essential rose oil?

Hello! A book I have states that: 30 roses (from the rose otto bush, which is the finest)produce 1 drop of oil. Please, don't ask me to do the math! Another book states: it takes 1,000 pounds of petals to produce 1 pound of oil.

Does it work or at least help?

It helped with the itching and dryness, but I still got them.

All of the senses are important , but in this article we're focusing on the sense of smell as a pathway to sensuality and the use of aromatherapy to help our love life. Through research companies have determined and created products that tend to create responses and feelings through the use of scents with aromatherapy. Again, we're all human and just because a bottle is labeled "sensual" scent it doesn't mean that you will personally be drawn to that aroma.

The most exciting way to learn more about sensuality and aromatherapy is to experiment. Smell and feel the products for yourself. It's not weird. It's expected . You are encouraged to try the "Testers" before making a purchase. Most major department stores have salespeople who are anxious to have you spray on perfumes or colognes. They want your business and will help you experience the scents.

Hint: You can do this alone if you're really uncomfortable, but, better yet, do it with your partner . This will become a fun shared experience and you'll learn more about what you both like and dislike. My husband watches my reactions to products throughout the year . When it's time to buy gifts or do something special, he knows what scents turn me on. How much better is your relationship when you buy the products that please each other and don't have to be returned?

A store with a good selection will probably have several scents in the same category so that you can find the one you prefer. Let's say that my spouse was acting tired, dragged out, and feeling depressed and depleted. My goal would be to help him out of that state without pills and more naturally with aromatherapy. I might an "Energy" bath gel and "Energy" massage oil for later.

Different companies manufacture different products so I'll use a few examples so you can understand . Let's say a company has two Energy scents this season. One is with orange and the other uses Lime. If my partner hates orange, we try lime.

To make myself feel sexier I tend to look for products labeled "Sensual" scents. For the whole day I rub lots of lotion with the sensual scent and for private times I enjoy the Sensual products with essential oils and Sensual Massage lotions. If you tend to need a boost at some point in your day, a quick body spray will perk you up on your legs, wrists, and arms. I keep a bottle of scents with Vanilla around me for a boost.

The sense of smell ties in more than any other sense to our memory. When we remember smells we can impact our emotions whether positive or negative. One of the smells that tend to bring back memories related to childhood are those of baking cookies. If you like cookies, the smell of a fresh batch baking in the oven can bring on feelings of happiness, love, warmth, security, family, and something that tastes good that you want.

Researchers spend millions of dollars trying to determine how to influence our senses. Manufacturers and retailers want us to connect the scents they create with desire. The more we love what we smell and want it, the better off they expect to be with sales.

Scent and sensuality are tied together. Certain scents make us feel more sensual, some scents will make us more relaxed or invigorated. You can also add to your aromatherapy experiences by buying teas such as Camomile for relaxation.

When my husband was feeling anxious I gave him a back rub with my Bath and BodyWorks "Sleep" body lotion with Vanilla Camomile scent. For stress and sore muscles I had him take a bath with bath salts with Eucalyptus and Spearmint.

I recently read two books about smell and how they effect us. One was written by a medical doctor, called "Life's a Smelling Success" by Alan Hirsch, MD. He explained that there is a connection between odors memory and that our brain makes the connection for us.

I learned that lavender and pumpkin pie are top performing odors in male sexual arousal. Anyone for pumpkin pie? Baked goods, according to Dr. Hirsch, stimulate nostalgia. Certain fragrances lift moods. If you can work with your senses you can enhance your sexual experiences and feel good more often.

To find products which are natural visit your favorite health food store, natural, or organic retailer.

Our feet is another important area to take care of apart from our face, hands and body. The feet area is easily prone to cuts, dehydration, line, rough surface, corns, skin cracks and joint pain.

Here are some tips you should try to apply daily or at least on alternate days. In the evening, pour some warm water into a basin, spacious enough to place your both foot onto it, amount of water about slightly more than half of the basin.

Add 1 tablespoon of Epsom salt, allow to dissolve in the water, then place both foot down. Rest for 20 minutes, you may take a short nap, watch your favorite television program or even have a facial masque on for relaxation and winding down. Another easier way is just by using plain warm water without any other ingredient.

To remove strong feet odor, add a few drops of tea tree oil, eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil or lemongrass oil onto a basin of warm water and soak your feet for 20 minute daily instead of using salt. These essential oils contain antiseptic and anti-bacterial properties to overcome feet odor and heavy feet sweating problems.

Tip 1 : Use 5 drops of tea tree oil and ¾ basin of warm water, soak feet for at least 20 minutes. Pat feet dry.(substitute with eucalyptus, peppermint or lemongrass oil).

Tip 2 : Mix 2 drops of tea tree oil, 2 drops of peppermint or eucalyptus oil and 1 drop of lavender oil into ¾ basin of warm water, soak feet for at least 20 minutes. Pat feet dry.

Tip 3 : If you are able to find lemongrass water (found in Asian countries), pour 1 cup of lemongrass water into ½ basin of warm water, soak feet for at least 20 minutes. Pat feet dry.

After any foot soak, remove your both foot from the basin. Dry your feet with a clean towel. Apply some moisturizing foot lotion and put on a pair of clean cotton socks. You may leave the socks on during your sleep or remove the socks when you go to bed, it is your choice.

This two simple routine allow you to recondition your skin, to maintain smooth healthy feet. Just remember this, soak feet to treat, relax or detox and moisturize your feet.

During the weekends or during your break, you can try a DIY refreshing feet treatment to repair and protect the skin at your feet. Skin over is can be easily damage due to wearing different types of shoes or too much walking. A very straight forward treatment, you would suggest that you give it a try.

Apply foot scrub onto feet and gently massage with light and circular movement , concentrating on rough and coarse skin. Rinse the feet with warm water. Pat dry.

Apply refreshing foot masque (try peppermint foot masque) to refresh or rich moisturizing foot masque (any foot masque rich in beauty oil or cocoa butter) onto feet covering your nails. Remember your nails need some conditioning too for easy trimming. Leave the masque on for 15 minutes. Wash the masque away with warm water, not forgetting to clean the nail corners. Pat the feet dry.

Use a foot spray to refresh your feet. Spray a few times onto feet to soothe and relax. Foot sprays are usually very cooling to the skin.

Apply foot lotion or foot cream, massage gently until lotion or cream absorb. You may apply some lotion or cream onto the nails area. Or for simple deep conditioning nail treatment, slightly warm up 1 tsp of olive oil, and gently rub onto each nails.

Wear a pair of thin cotton soaks if you are planning to walk around the house to prevent sticking the foot lotion or cream onto the floor.

Can you use a combination of neem oil and eucalyptus oil to cure scabies?

If this is possible, can you explain what to do?\

if not, then can you give me a list of over the counter creams that will work and are effective?

If youve ever had scabies, can you tell me how you got rid of them?

Scabies is highly contagious and re-infestation is one of the major problems. To answer your first question, neem and eucalyptus oil are being used very successfully...but only if you are treating (cleaning and disinfecting) your environment at the same time. Neem is a fairly strong oil so using a carrier oil will help "calm" the scent and some other EO's (essential oils) you can use are lemongrass, cedarwood, lavender, cinnamon.
The second question about OTC scabies products that work....don't waste your time and money on head lice products...scabies is not the same. The doctor's prescription of permethrin creams (5%) are poisons and insecticides....most often the side effects are the same as having scabies....rash and itch, and some people even have worse side effects...possible seizures, liver damage, etc.
The biggest thing you can do is treat your bedding (plastic mattress cover) cover your fabric furniture with sheets of plastic and your fabric car seat with plastic or trash bags. You'll "smother" them, the scabies mites have to have a human host in 3 days to survive. Wash sheets, clothing, etc everyday in HOT water and dry on HIGH heat. Heat at 130-140 degrees will kill scabies mites.
You'll want to make sure the neem mix is applied at least twice daily. Neem is a natural contraceptive and will not allow the scabies mites to reproduce..rapidly cutting down their life cycles.

My Female Boxer is going to have puppies this will be her second litter and we are expecting about 6 maybe 5 ?

will live like the last litter and we want too know how much we should sell them for, they are pure-bred not registered, they will have all of their shots, they will come with a collar leash, bed, and pet carrier.
Please reply with some prices thankS!

The price of the shots given thus far (and possibly the price of accessories at a discount price- I would also suggest you make the accessories optional as many people want to pick out and buy their own things for their puppy), and you need to make sure the price you are charging is less than what ever your local shelter is adopting for (since at least they fix the dogs before sending them to a new home, and generally they send the same accessories home).

Your a back yard greeder and just need to get your dogs fixed.
Points that show you're a backyard breeder include the following:
* Asking how much to sell pups for.
* Expecting 5 or 6 pups to live.
* Unregistered pups (Which likely means unregistered parents- Which means your pups could be mutts that look rather like boxers for all that it matters).

Detoxifying and Healing Bath:

Set the mood for relaxation and healing by lighting a candle or candles. Put on your favorite, soul soothing music, or just listen to the water as it cascades into your bath. Add 5-8 drops of Cypress pure essential oil (or other detoxifying pure essential oil, or blend) to 1-4 cups of sea salt in a bowl, stir this blend of salt and cypress oil briefly. Your sea salts will act as a carrier for dispersing your oils into your warm bath water.

Add this mixture to your bath just before stepping in. Fill the bath up to your neck, and allow yourself to relax deeply. Soak for 15-20 minutes, or until the waters cool. During this time imagine any toxins, or negative emotion being drawn out, and cleansed completely from your body and mind.

Please Note: Natural sea salts are rich in minerals and charged with electrical and healing properties that you can especially benefit from in a warm bath. A sea salt bath with pure essential oils is an effective way to cleanse your chakras and auric energy field. You can purchase natural sea salt in your local health-food store in the spice section.

At the end of your soak, imagine any toxins, or negative emotion that have been cleansed from your body and mind going down the drain. Breathe deeply as you feel renewed in your body, mind, and soul, and give thanks. Conclude with an invigorating shower, using your favorite shampoo and soap. Allow yourself to luxuriate, and pamper yourself with good feelings of self love and appreciation. See yourself bathed in a pink glow of light and love. Dry off with a big fluffy towel, and continue to relax as long as you like, listen to your favorite music, read poetry, write in your journal. Do whatever feels most perfect for you in this moment!

Detoxifying & Healing Foot Soak:

You can achieve outstanding results for detoxifying and healing your body, mind, and soul with a relaxing and rejuvenating foot soak (hot or cold as desired).

Disperse one or two drops of an essential oil, or blend of your choice in a basin of water by blending them first with a teaspoon of sea salt, honey, cream, or jojoba oil and then thoroughly mixing them into your foot bath. Soak your feet for 10-15 minutes time, or until the waters begin to become tepid to the touch.

May you come to know aromatherapy as a wonderful friend, you can rely on for unconditional love, support, and healing.

Please Note: There are many cheap, synthetic copies of essential oils available, but these are not recommended for therapeutic use. Synthetic derivatives although much less expensive will never give you the desired results for therapeutic benefit and may even create adverse side effects such as allergic reactions. To achieve truly remarkable results for ones health and well-being essential oils must be absolutely pure and unadulterated. For best results purchase only premium quality essential oils. To insure a superior aroma experience please always choose essential oils that are guaranteed to be organically grown, and GC/MS tested for purity and pesticide free.

Oregano (Origanum compactum)is in the mint family of botanical plants and the essential oil comes from the U.S. Turkey and France. Hildegard of Bingen referred to it in the 12th century. This is the true oregano we grow in our herb gardens but it has a very ancient medical reputation. Traditionally it has been used as a home remedy for digestive upsets, respiratory problems like asthma, bronchitis, coughs, etc, colds and flu as well as for inflammations of the mouth and throat. In China it was also used to treat fever, vomiting, diarrhea, jaundice, and itchy skin conditions. It has been used externally in herbal medicine for headaches, rheumatism, general aches and pains and applied to stings and bites. Hildegard used a mixture of oregano to treat leprous sores. (Ouch!) According to her writing,

"If they did it often he or she would be cured without a doubt, unless the person dies, or unless God does not want the person cured!"

How Can Oregano Essential Oil Help Us Maintain Our Health Today?

Today we find that oregano has proven to be anti-aging, a powerful antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-parasitic, anti-inflammatory and immune stimulant. It is used in arthritis and rheumatism, respiratory infectious diseases, infections like tuberculosis and for digestive problems. Its primary effect is antibacterial and stimulating. Oregano is primarily used today in Mediterranean cooking and in dental preparations.

To use oregano essential oil, dilute one part essential oil with four parts mixing oil or use it neat (undiluted) in the Raindrop Technique. This is considered a "hot" oil and caution must be taken when applying undiluted since it can burn the skin of sensitive people. Chemically, oregano is high in carvacrol a phenol and can be toxic to the liver if used over a long period of time. It can be diffused or taken as a dietary supplement as well.

As for safety, British model of aromatherapy says this oil should not be used on the skin. The French model uses it diluted as well as neat (undiluted). It may irritate the nasal membranes if inhaled directly from a diffuser or bottle. It is a skin irritant and mucous membrane irritant. Want to learn more about the healing properties of oregano and other essential oils and how to safely use oils like oregano that are high in phenols? Consider becoming a certified aromatherapist. Educational courses in healing energy and aromatherapy can help you understand how essential oils heal the body/mind/spirit. the Institute of Spiritual Healing & Aromatherapy teaches courses throughout the United States on the healing properties of essential oils including oregano.

Despite alternative medicine practises having somewhat negative press recently, mostly due to the claims that homeopathy makes and the scientific evidence that underpins a contrary position, aromatherapy can have a wide range of benefits on the psychological, emotional and even physical well being of a person. In order to receive everything aromatherapy has to offer though, it is necessary to ensure that the right blend of essential oils are chosen to compliment the ailment that needs helping. In the following article, I'll outline the way in which aromatherapy helps stress relief, and the essential oils that are preferential for its treatment.

Aromatherapy and stress relief is a well-established couple; the scents and smells of the essential oils seem to really work with the emotional, physical and mental stress that we can encounter throughout a normal day. Some even go so far as to claim that the plant extracts used in aromatherapy can act as an antidepressant; that they can energise when you feel fatigued and even combat viral and fungal infections. Real results are what matter most though, and a clear link can be seen between stress relief and aromatherapy.

There are two real ways you can utilize the power of plant extracts and consequently aromatherapy; through the skin or through inhaling their vapour. This is largely up to you: choose what's best for convenience and what you find most effective. Some people find that a bath with essential oils blended into the water works best for them, whilst others see most benefit from specialised aromatherapy candles. Whichever method you opt for, the best essential oils to use are the ones which are considered mood lifters. Examples include sandalwood, rosemary, lavender and camomile.

If you're opting for applying the essential oils to your skin, you've got to be aware of a few safety precautions first. All essential oils have to be diluted with certain carrier oils to ensure that the chances of any allergic reactions to be minimised. You should always consult either a reference guide or a trained professional if you do indeed carry out direct skin application to ensure that no problems or complications will arise.

Jonathan Belcher also writes articles on getting certified as an aromatherapist over at http://www.aromatherapycertification.org, particularly focusing on the subject of how to Learn Aromatherapy.

Lavender is the kindest of all the oils and is good for burns, spots, allergies, insect bites, tickly coughs, IBS, actually almost everything!!! Tea Tree is antiseptic, antiviral and great for spots and coughs/colds.

I have just qualified so I know what I'm talking about..!

Aromatherapy is one of the best ways to relax yourself, whether through burning oils to accompany meditation, or using it them in a wonderful massage. However, we must be careful with using essential oils as the wrong amount or the wrong mixture can bring about some serious side effects.

Essential oils are highly concentrated liquids used in aromatherapy that can be harmful if not used carefully. However, including aromatherapy and massage in your lifestyle shouldn't really cause undue paranoia or worry. The important thing to remember is to always treat essential oils as medicines. Follow the suggestions given below as well so you can be on your way to calmly and safely enjoying the numerous benefits that aromatherapy offers.

The safety guidelines that you are about to read are not a complete reference for the proper use of essential aromatherapy oils. Use common sense; when in doubt about the oils used on you, always consult a trained aromatherapy practitioner or a physician.

1. Essential oils are flammable. When lighting a burner to heat scented oils, do not leave the room unless the flame is put out. Always keep your burners at a safe distance from curtains, paper and alcoholic substances.

2. Do not apply undiluted essential oils directly on the skin. Some oils are exempted from this; however, only use undiluted oils if you have attained a significant education and sufficient experience with them. Lavender and tea tree oils are cited by a large number of aromatherapy practitioners as being oils that can be safely used undiluted however this should only be done very rarely as some individuals can be severely sensitive. So to be safe, the rule of thumb is to avoid use any undiluted essential oil.

3. Not all essential oils can be used for aromatherapy. Herbal oils from bitter almond, camphor, pennyroyal, onion, wintergreen, horseradish and sassafras are some that should only be used by specially qualified aromatherapy practitioners. Even most practitioners do not use them.

4. With oils, less IS More. Follow directions in home kits. Usually, the smallest amount of essential oils required will get the job done. If the label says use only a drop, for example, don't use more.

5. Children should never use essential oils without the presence of an adult who is knowledgeable about their use. Children are often attracted to essential oils because of their wonderful smells. Some oils smell like food (like vanilla) and citrus oils can smell like something safe to drink. Always keep essential oils away from the reach or children. Again, remember to treat these oils like medicines that are poison in ignorant hands.

6. If you are pregnant, or suspect you are, it is safer to avoid essential oils. Asthma sufferers, as well as epileptics, should not use essential oils. People with other health conditions, such as allergies, should also consult a physician because some essential oils can cause sensitization or severe allergic reactions. If you are using a new oil for first time, do a skin patch first on a small area of skin, like the inner arm. Apply a small amount of the diluted essential oil (again, never use essential oils undiluted on the skin) on the inner arm and apply a bandage on it. Wait 24 hours and check if there is any form of skin reaction. Even if a common essential oil is not known to cause skin irritation, this step should not be overlooked. An oil may not irritate you, but it may still irritate someone else. It is important that you always keep that difference in mind.

7. Essential oils should not be swallowed or ingested. Essential oils should only be taken internally if you have received a detailed consultation and a prescription from a trained and qualified aromatherapy practitioner with the knowledge of your physician.

Will aromatherapy massage cause any pain or discomfort?

I want to know what pain will occur if you have aromatherapy massage to help back pain.

If you are using a qualified aromatherapist there should be no pain involved. However, some oils should not be used on certain types of patients and this is why it is beneficial to use an aromatherapist who has undergone training.

Fall is a time of year when sinus-y stuff starts to happen.

Many people attribute sinus problems to the spring, but fall is also a major time of difficulty for sinus sufferers.

Here are some reasons why:

--Mold produced by leaf decay

--Potent weed allergens

--Decay from bug death

--Heating systems coming on

--Less fresh air in households

--Cooler weather makes us crave sweets and carbs (eating them can affect our sinuses too)

It is true that our external environment has a huge role to play in attributing to sinus problems, but our internal environment (inside our bodies)has more of an influence on sinus conditions than the outside of our body.

If our internal environment is in "good shape", then it can help combat what we are exposed to externally.

What constitutes "good shape"?

--Balanced ecology in the gut (decent population of good bacteria with little yeast overgrowth)

--More alkaline and less acid (eating veggies and fruits and not sugar, caffeine, white flour)

--Well hydrated

--Well rested

--Well oxygenated (daily exercise)

--Well cleansed (bowels moving)

Why is balanced ecology in the gut such an important factor as it relates to sinus health?

The entire alimentary canal (the gastrointestinal system starting with the mouth and ending with the anus) is made up of mucous membrane. We often call the abdominal portion of the gastrointestinal system "the gut".

When the gut has a good ecological terrain of balanced flora it can influence the other areas of the body that have the same mucous membrane tissue.

Think about where else mucous membrane is in the body:

Respiratory System

--sinuses

--mouth

--nose

--windpipe and lungs

Urogential System

--vagina

--urethra

--urinary bladder

These areas are often affected by candida or yeast overgrowth, which can lead to symptoms which are often called 'infections' (many times they are infections, but many times they are just an overgrowth of yeast).

In the years of my practice, I saw many people with sinus conditions. This condition was often accompanied by other problems in the body - such as allergies, skin disorders, frequent headaches, depression, stomach problems, and colon issues to name a few.

Many of these people loved and often ate these foods:

--Cheeses, especially aged

--Wine

--Sugar

--Mushrooms

--Bread made with yeast

--Food with preservatives (packaged food)

--Cakes, pastries, cookies

--Pizza

--Acid forming beverages: coffee, tea, soda

And very often these folks were constipated.

Along with eating an balanced alkaline diet, here are two very effective ways to deal with sinus issues:

--Colon cleansing

Cleansing the colon can keep the overgrowth of candida at bay. Sinus conditions clear up when the colon is clear.

As a former Wellness Center owner, I used to observe that when people had colonics with good results, they almost always simultaneously experienced sinus drainage. Any sinus congestion they had before their cleansing often disappeared with the good results of the cleanse.

Nutritional products that you can use at home for cleansing, and even foods that help cleanse the body, can offer the same results as it relates to sinuses.

--Using therapeutic grade essential oils

This is a no brainer. If you understand how therapeutic essential oils create an environment where overgrowth or imbalance of micro-organisms can NOT take place - in other words the overgrowth of yeast, fungus, and any pathogenic organisms will not occur, then you can see why using these for sinus problems can be very helpful.

Many microbes, especially the ones that don't serve us, love to hang out in dark moist environments - and that is exactly what our sinus cavities are (note how they are called 'cavities') -a dark moist environment.

Inhalation, diffusing, and even taking essential oils internally can be extremely helpful for sinus sufferers. If you want to take them internally, make sure the label has "Supplemental Facts" on it (overseen by the FDA) - this way you know you can them take internally. You may be hard pressed to find that on labels in essential oils, but you will find it in Young Living oils - that is one of the many reasons I love Young Living.

Make sure you see the short video clip below on how to use an essential oil for inhalation.

Does anyone have any new ideas for dealing with insomnia?

I've already tried tea, herbs, milk (warm and cold), soothing music, sound machines, fountains, acupuncture, yoga, meditation, reading, writing, watching tv, excercising, warm baths, essential oils, incense, candles, melatonin, over the counter sleep aids, and of course sex. I've been alternating between tylenol pm, tylenol cold and sinus, and nyquil for over a year now, and I really wanna be able to sleep without them.

I have occasional insomnia also, and didn't want to take the Prescription route. I now take Valerian (an herbal supplement) andit works really well. There is anther supp. called KavaKava , which is effective as well . Both are available at health stores. Good luck and sweet dreams!
