Scent stimulates nerves to fire in the emotional center of the brain (Limbic System - Smell and Emotional Response), and it also stimulates the master gland to release hormones. Is it safe to put a drop of pure lavender oil in my natural ear drops?

I think it would sooth my irritated ear and I want to try it out.

I wouldn't mess around with lavender in your ears. Ears are extremely complex and sensitive organs and you could easily be damaging them by putting lavender oil in your ear canal. Don't put anything but medicated ear drops directly into your ear without speaking to a health professional first, unless you want to go deaf/cause some serious damage.
